Become a Family Friendly Vendor

The Family Friendly decal can be seen around our city on stores that have pledged to not carry, eliminate or move paraphernalia, CBD suckers and gummies and other synthetic products out of the sight of young people.

Through an initial environmental scan of community gas stations and businesses, concerns arose of the available products and the marketing techniques geared towards youth including colorful packaging and flavorings. In speaking with business owners, we learned that many of our owners were not aware of the concerns but were willing to make changes. Out of this came the Family Friendly Vendor program. The program is being implemented in all of Shelby County through COMPACT 2020 and local prevention teams. Support these local businesses and be sure to tell them that you appreciate their willingness to be a part of this important program.
